Visiting the White House Kitchen Garden

First planted in 2009 before the official launch of the Let’s Move campaign, the White House kitchen garden has blossomed under First Lady Michelle Obama — sparking a national conversation around health and wellness, providing vegetables and herbs to the White House kitchen, and acting as an environmental classroom for local DC schoolchildren and students visiting the capital from across the US. Watch the video above to join the Eater team on a private tour of the garden, under the guidance of Deb Eschmeyer and Kelly Miterko, executive and deputy directors respectively of Let’s Move.
