This clip from the 90’s TV series, “The Indoor Garden”, is a short look at an Aechmea species that I have not seen for sale in a long time. It was one of the largest and showiest of the Aechmeas that I ever saw for commercial use. Because of its prickly edges you wouldn’t want to keep one in a home with young children. Its Latin name aptly includes ‘samauri’ and it can be a splendid display of tropical beauty if you have the space for it.
