Peas, Swiss Chard & Cucumber Transplants: 2 Cool Weather Vegetables for the Fall – TRG 2015

Cucumbers aren’t cool weather vegetables, they can’t take a frost but a 2nd round towards the end of the summer works well. They make great transplants.

Cool weather vegetables like peas and swiss chard can be grown in the spring and fall in many areas. While peas wont grow threw the summer, swiss chard continues strong. They both can take a light frost and do really well with cool nights. I start my peas and most of my cool weather vegetables in seed cells. I get them growing while my garden is still full of the summer crops.
