Watch as Better Homes and Gardens shows you this painted flower pots garden craft! Add some personality to your ceramic pots by giving them a makeover. Brightly colored paints will stand out in any season. Before beginning these DIY garden crafts, make sure your flower pot is dry and free of dirt and other debris. Apply a uniform coat of exterior grade spray paint to the garden pots in a color of your choosing. Simply let the pot dry for a day before planting. These garden crafts should last a few years depending on which climate you live in, but if the paint needs retouching, just repeat the process. For those who really wish to channel their inner crafty side, opt for a two-tone painted garden pot. Use painter’s tape to cover the rim of the pot and apply the first coat of paint to the large portion of the pot. Once this paint has dried, remove the tape and cover the painted portion of the pot with tape and newspaper. Paint the rim of the pot and remove the tape when it’s dried. Use these garden ideas to liven up your garden in a quick and inexpensive way! Painted flower pots are also a great way to refurbish materials that you may already have around the house.
