Hey there folks. Today I’m talking about 10 things to know about the Plants and Animals in No Man’s Sky, based upon the information we’ve been given so far, as well as the gameplay footage we’ve seen. No Man’s Sky will have a near infinite amount of possible combinations for it’s plants and animals, considering how procedural generation works and how many variables the developer appears to have put into the artwork. Despite even the developer not truly knowing every creature or plant that could exist in No Man’s Sky, the various wildlife does follow a few rules.
These rules range from the color schemes of the plants, to the types of plants that could possibly exist on planets with certain harsh climates, to animals that interact with each other in a violent way, or react to the player in a violent way even unprovoked. For most people, seeing the planets and finding cool strange things might be their most important part of exploration, but for some it’s locating and discovering all of these strange creatures that could be found within the enormous universe. There’s also the allure of seeing different animal and planet after different animal and plant, possibly never getting the same close encounter experience twice.
Now, there are some limitations to what we’ll be able to do with the plants and animals. We can’t do strange cross pollinations for plants, or capture and tame animals, but it seems like if finding and seeing new species is your thing, No Man’s Sky will certainly have plenty of it!
