This is my favourite farm design and can be used to grow carrots, potatoes, or even wheat. It is the highest yield possible using two dispensers per side. If you want to increase your yield, just build another growing area to make it twice as long and have a set of dispensers in the middle of the back wall. That design will require two areas for the crops to drop through.
I used a similar design for my nether wart farm, the major difference is the hidden water at the sides to hydrate the farmland. I hope this tutorial helps, and if you want me to do anything specific, leave it in the comments.
