Growing onion sets is a backup tactic for this year in case my onions from seed don’t go to plan. I planted them in modules in a mixture of last year’s Jack’s magic compost and coir. I now have them in the grow tent under my grow lights with the seed onions. What I think will happen is that this will provide a light mixture that doesn’t overpower them does give them a strong start. I have done a similar thing with the Solent Wight garlic. We look at some potato reveals I did recently for Maris Bard, International Kidney, Kestrel and Nadine potato varieties. Finally we look ahead and go through the different seeds I and varieties I will be growing this year.
