How I store my Onions, Garlic & Shallots over Winter and what I do after harvesting to make sure they don’t go mouldy in storage and keep well into Spring.
The main thing that I feel is important is after harvesting to leave all the leaves on the bulbs when drying out.
Dry them in a polytunnel or greenhouse until the leaves are all dried and shrivelled and then cut off the tops or plat them but leave an inch or two of the stalks on to keep out the botrytis and mould spores.
Then store in a cool airy frost free place and hopefully they will keep well.
