Tomato Blossom End rot can be a problem and render the fruit inedible.
This is the method I use to avoid the problem by a simple addition of Dolomite Lime to the water.
Blossom end rot was always thought to be only caused by letting the compost dry out and then overwatering it.
This may be the case but the major cause is a lack of Calcium.
Simply adding a little diluted Dolomite Lime water to the watering can has stopped me getting a single incidence of the Blossom End Rot since I started doing it.
Also since Dolomite is Calcium Magnesium Carbonate it contains Magnesium that your Tomato plants will appreciate too.
