Harvesting this years Garlic and Giant Banana Shallot Crop from the veg plot.
After a slow start with the Shallots the eventual size was enormous, just going to show that they seem to grow well in any weather.
The Garlic is about the best crop I’ve ever had too, again after a slow start, the bulbs are a good size.
So even after a rubbish year weatherwise the crops seem to be pretty good all things considering.
Variety of the Shallots is “Zebrunne” sowed early March in the polytunnel , planted Early May Harvested late August.
Garlic is Solent Wight. planted Early March and harvested late August, just 5 months growing.
All Organic too as I only used 4 oz of blood fish & bone fertilizer per yd .
Happy Gardening.
