Allotment Diary April 10 : Making Homemade Chilli Flakes

I still had loads of chillies drying on last years plants so I decided to have a go at making some chilli flakes.
Dead easy to do, just removed the dried chillies then either remove or leave the seeds in, dry out completely in a cool oven for as few minutes and then crush them up in a mortar and pestle.
A word of warning though, these were hot chillies and the fumes that came off them made my eyes and nose sting.
These were Prarie Fire Chillies at about 50,000 on the schoville heat scale, god knows what Habanero or Ghost Chilli flakes would be like.
